Ok,

So in effort to try and curb the spam bots that have been washing over the place faster than ... well some kind of analogy here... I've put in an extra step to registering onto the forum. You now have to answer some basic questions.

But I need to make absolutely certain it's working right.  So if you have some time and the will, log out of your account and register a new account.

Make it a member name like testingstuff, and see if you can A: answer the questions easily enough, and B: get through registration.

The three fears are that 1: the questions don't make sense, 2: even if you do put down the right answers they won't count (that's what happened last time I've tried this), and finally 3: putting down wrong answers will still count (I'm not really very worried about this one).

If you manage to get registered without any problems, hit my profile, delete the test account, then log back into your regular account and let me know all went well here.  If you can't register, log back in, and report what you can in this thread.  Helpful info will be, "I didn't understand question X" and "I tried to following answers".

Once I have ten people who say they registered with no problems we'll probably know we're safe.

If you help, thanks in advance!

I wrote your name in the sand but the waves washed it away,
Then I wrote it in the sky but the wind blew it away,
So I wrote it in my heart and there it will stay.

I tried to create another account and, in each case, I got one of the additional verfication questions wrong.  It did not let me create an account.

However, I just realised, I didn't test the Capcha bit.

Once I figured out that the right answer was "Barb" and not "Barbara", it worked just fine. It was also difficult to resist the temptation to say "yes!" when asked if I was a robot, but that's probably more on me than on the test...
