Marley and Me by John Grogan

Recently Julie and I listened to Marley and Me via an audiobook:

Marley and Me charts the life of the author, his family and their dog.  It centres on the adventures with the dog but also looks at other aspects of their lives.

As newly weds Grogan and his wife decide to get themselves a puppy as a training tool for looking after children.  They had both had dogs when growing up so didn't think it would be problem.  However, they soon find out that not all labradors are the same.

The book is funny but also has drama and there were parts that had both of us in tears.
