Still haven’t seen Wall-E! Grah! So busy round here. Have any of you caught the new Cohen Bros. movie? I haven’t seen that one.

And I did vote even though it was really hard to choose who I should vote for.

So…much….red…..in this update. It makes the atmosphere in the room really tense. I wonder if Phanessa is influenced by his words, it seems that Deimos has a great way of manipulating. What will she answer?

Yeah, I kinda miss Claude, but if it not concentrating on them helps the storyline I’m not complaining. It’s like when you’re reading some books, and it’s necessary to read a chapter that’s on the bad guys.

Another wonderfully colored and drawn page. I absolutely love the red hue throughout, very emotive. Deimos and his “followers” gathered around him like that remind somewhat of Bacchus and his Bacchi.

Great page Barb! Had to crank the brightness on the monitor to get some of the finer details that are on this page… looks awesome, though I gotts say that Diemos with Butterfly wings? Very unexpected, but cool in that entire evil in inocence thing he has going on.

I’m too busy staring at Deimos’s surroundings to think about Claude at the moment. I just want to reach up and shatter the jewel on his forehead. And his wings are the first time that we’ve seen multiple colors in a single faerie’s wings. And then there’s his ‘choir’… How interesting!

Deimos is seriously creepy. I do miss Claude, but backstory is important. And I’m guessing Phanessa is about to say “The heck with you,” to this guy.

Man that first panel is psycho. I spent most of my time working on it (many hours- an embarassing number of hours) with a cold, so it looks really weird now.
Anyhoo- One question that came up in the forum -
The woman next to Phan is not Xylia’s mother, she is a nurse.
YEah, it’s really red here. I seem to remember another really red page in the story… Could it be that red is a symbolic color in the world of Xylia? Well, I guess. LOL! Deimos is quite the standard nasty, though. Except for those lovely butterfly wings. ^_^
Me, I miss Claude. I had to draw him the other day just to see if I remembered how. I did. ^_^ He’s going to be put through some more acting chops in just a bit.

i’ll also go for number 1, just because he’s a hottie. i mean, bumblebee wings? hardly suits you, brother. irl, we’d be useless to these people. think about eragon in the beginning – where eragon was useless to defend himself, never mind others. that is reality today. there are a few judo experts and such – if one was on this list, i’d vote for him/her. if one was a mensa member, i’d vote for him/her for the strategic element. we are so damned lucky there are grocery stores everywhere and we don’t have to hunt and gather. we’d all be dead.

Seriously, I kinda do, but I’m enjoying this as much as anything….though today’s update was a leeeeetle hard to read until my eyes got used to it.

Thanks you all! Chameleon- one of my goals with this story was to shake things up a little here and there- the lead has a big nose, the bad guy has pretty fairy wings…you know!

I am going to an anime convention in October, and I would like to advertise Xylia a little bit there because a lot of people who go to anime conventions also enjoy webcomics.
Question 1:
Do I have your permission to pass out flyers or buttons or anything like that on behalf of Xylia? It’s entirely your call, and if you would prefer to leave advertising to your team, I will respect your wishes.
Question 2:
Do you have an official flyer/button/sticker/sample design that I could print and pass out at the convention? You are a much better designer than I am.
I don’t really have the money to donate consistently, but if I could help you at all with some free advertising, I would absolutely love to.
