Hi Xyliacs!
So our winged friend is not staying pink. Aww.. I know many of you will be disappointed. But it’s nice to see that Claude isn’t allowing himself to be pushed around. This chapter is almost done. WOW. It was a long one.
So what do you all think of this new character? And will he be sticking around? What do you suppose is next up for our hero and doggie heroine?
Happy Labor Day to my US friends. I’m going to be heading off to a cookout with friends, and Jer’s band might be playing as well. I hope you all have a nice day planned Xyliacs!
News in Barbland:
It’s been a good long while since I really blogged and shared stuff with y’all Xyliacs, and I apologize. Things in Barbland have been shifting gears quite a bit, and while it happens kind of gradually, it sort of didn’t. You all know about my kids- they are awesome, and busy, and have lots of things that I attend, music, school and sports. Just about every night is booked up with a practice, game, band gig, or other music thing.
But I also have happily allowed myself to become more social, and I have a very good group of friends that I am doing things with at least once or twice a week. I have more musician friends again, I’m seeing them perform as well.
I also have a very special fellow in my universe. I’m not going to say more than that, but it’s definitely something new for me for a very good long while. ^_^
Of course, freelance continues, not as much as it should- but I have many jobs in the works. My plate is more filled up than it was before, so I appreciate your understanding, dear readers, that I have gone to the noon update on Mondays, but also for your understanding when I have those times that I may need breaks. My life has grown more busy and full, and webcomic creating is a love of mine, but not my only one.
The Xylia Radio Play continues! Great voice clips are appearing on the forum, you can check them out.
Vote TWC to see a detail of one of the 2010 Xylia in Art calendar images. This one pays homage to the most famous artist to come from my hometown, Grant Wood.

From time to time, I will broadcast live while I work on pages. This happens sporatically- I will announce it with a tweet, and a forum announcement, so if you want to get in the loop, subscribe to my Tweets, or join the forum.

Love the horse voice- I can almost hear it, sort of a Christopher Lee kind of tone and accent. Heh heh! Great stuff.
On another note, are you using Greek for the spell words? If so, I can help you choose some that are a bit more archaic-as I am a native speaker of the language

This page made me laugh. Show him who is boss, Claude! I am glad that you are busy in a good way Barb. Have fun.
September 7th, 2009 at 2:22 pm
Yay, Claude! I’m glad he’s standing his ground and flexing some backbone – good for him!
And speaking of things that are good, I’m really glad you have had some positive things coming into your life, B – you deserve it!!
^_^
Keep it up, and don’t worry when you have to take breaks – we understand. Know that we, Your Faithful, will be here, eager for the next installment, no matter how long it takes.

Aww, Barb, it made me so happy to hear that things are looking up for you! New Friends and a new Fellow!? Well, that’s just awesome. You deserve much happiness and a break from difficulties!!
(On a Xylia related note: he should’ve stayed pink.
At least now if he gets on Claude’s nerves, he can just shoot him an ‘I can turn you pink again at any moment’ glare, and silence him!)
September 7th, 2009 at 5:48 pm
WOO HOO!! Look at him go! He definitely can bring out the good stuff when he’s under pressure!
September 7th, 2009 at 5:53 pm
Hey Barb, I don ‘t know if you have any control over this, but for some reason my bookmark does not update when you do…I’ve reset the silly thing probably ten times now…and still each week, if I don’t look I don’t know that you’ve updated.
BTW I meant to mention this but hit submit before I thought about it. Congrats on the recent run of good news! So happy to hear that!

Tis is such a wonderfully fun book, B. Thanks for working so hard.
September 7th, 2009 at 9:39 pm
Barb, your work is, as usual and expected, superb, complete with a surprise or two. I am so glad that things are picking up for you in other areas as well. Be good to Barb, for she richly deserves it. And, if some man proves not to be a gentleman, just mention it in your comentary and we will be happy to beat the **** out of him.

September 8th, 2009 at 4:53 pm
Wow, those special effects in the first two panels are amazing! Good to see Claude being assertive and keeping it real. Pink today, glue tomorrow.
Very nice voting incentive. LOL
September 9th, 2009 at 1:45 am
Haha! Good going, Claude. ^_^
It’s nice to hear that your life has been filled up nicely with love and well…life! I’m happy for you. Xylia doesn’t NEED to be your only love, nor should it be. It sounds to me as if you’ve found a “balance.” I hope things continue to go well for you. May life continue to be good to you, and may your well of inspiration never dry up.

I was wondering if you knew how/why I cannot see the lastest page? Is anyone else having these problems? Is there anyway someone can like, paste the image into an email or something and send it my way? *sheepish grin* Just this page isn’t working though, so I don’t know if my comp. doesn’t like the new layout or what.
help, pleez!

Mr. Horse certainly is a bit uppity… Hm, I wonder if Livy enjoys flying…
And congrats to the happily busy life. Music certainly does tend to make living a better thing. And busier… Much, much, much busier… Off to practice…

The more I look at this page, the more I realize… Now that he’s not pink anymore, he is one scary-looking horse! If he started to growl and show his fangs, I wouldn’t be very surprised.

Becca, do you have your referrers turned on? The site will automatically block the comic download if so. It’s an anti-piracy measure we had Keenspot institute. If you DO have your referrers turned on and still can’t view the comic, could you tell me your browser and edition please? In the meantime, I would suggest viewing the site on another computer until we can find out what’s up!

I too am unable to view the most current page. Previous ones work fine. I’m on Firefox 3.0.13

Anko and others, thank you for letting us know about the problems you are having. For those of you who are having difficulty with the page, please try this: a hard refresh, and then hit the back button. Then go forward. That should reset the page. I had the same problem- I think it has to do with cookies or something or cache issues- I don’t know nothin’ bout these here computers, I tell ya! ^_^ I hope that solves everyone’s issues. Thank you for being patient as we work through the changes in the ComicPress upgrade.
Thank you all for the nice comments
Tantz- You know, I may take you up on that! Yes, I do use Greek as the basis for things, but I am certainly not versed in the language, nor am I a linguist, so my attempts at bastardizing the Greek for my own use are sometimes wonky.
Tinker and Octo, yes, it’s good to see that Claude doesn’t back down like he used to in unfamiliar or threatening situations.
Lora, Tiger, Joseph, Chamelon and Vaidia, thank you very much for the well wishes on my personal life. Things have certainly changed around here!
Chip – thank you so much for the nice words. It means a lot coming from you!
Naomi- it does appear that Claude has figured out how to change things doesn’t it? He’s using basic sorcery, but he’s still kind of a novice- hence the pink horse! ^_^
Alan- LOL! Glue tomorrow! You got it!
Becca, thank you for letting me know- I hope my solution above works for you.
Strange Ian- yes, he is. Look at that…horse. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ALob2IKOHD0

Great to hear that some good stuff is finally happening in your life, you deserve every bit of it.
It’s a bit sad to see the horse to turn black again but I guess the horse is happier in his original coloring but I am glad that Claude finally is finding his backbone and not to mention that it hasn’t withered away after all this time of him ignoring it.

I really do like this comic, but the latest page i am a bit sad on, every time i come around it is not uploading so i haven’t seen the new page
i am quite sad! i am not sure if it is my computer or not. or if anyone else is having this trouble. but i might have to try and look up this comic on a different computer just to see the newest page, and i am hoping it doesn’t keep doing it on my laptop, or its gonna be hard for me to keep reading it. which would be sad cause i like to read it.
but keep up the good work
