Okay, B - I'll pick up the gauntlet that's been thrown, and give it a shot:

          > See if you can see the different characters that I’m posing for.

Okay, numbering the pictures left to right, top to bottom, but answered in the order they come to me....

1 - That's got to be Xylia
13- Claude
7- Tychia
2- Adora
4- Xylia (hoping-hoping-hoping) or Katharos
6 - Brimaz?
3- the spider FEF (can't recall her name at the moment)
8- Tychia again?
5- Um... Livy?

Gosh, some of these are hard...

15- Claude, in the Chicken Suit?
12- You, after you read this?
11- Um... Well... Um......... Libros?

*Sets gauntlet quietly back down and slinks away*

At the risk of repeating some of what ChristineA said, I applaud you sticking with your exercise goals. Powers that be know I should try and stick to mine more often. I think that maybe you could do some running in the morning and maybe bring along a camera to take some quick amateur photography shots of the stuff you see. It doesn't have to be particularly noteworthy, it can be the sun rising, or just some trees waving in the breeze. I personally use the small camera on my phone to do the same (usually just the morning sun rising up, or if I am headed the other, setting), but the pictures I get don't look to bad after. I found that it actually helped me become refocused on an idea that I have been working on for a few years for a game (still just writing the entire story for it, but its coming along... slowly). I hope you do continue to have good luck with getting over the depression and getting back to creating awesomely epic stuff for us, your adoring Xyliac fans, to enjoy!

I tempted to give those photos captions (e.g. the one with the book I would caption, "Very interesting?...").

As to the writer's block on Xylia, may I make a suggestion? I know I'm experiencing a block currently but I found a neat trick to write as much as I have -- I asked my characters to solve the plot problems themsleves! ;-) Maybe you could adapt that to start things off?

So the answer is.....both? Meh, whatever. Just means you're about the same status mentally that everyone else here is. Besides, the fact that you know and represent it makes you better than about 96% of people with access to the interwebs. :)

So on a side note, am I the only one who read that "get an avatar" thing next to the name box above and thought "Yay! I can be a big blue thing now too!"

I love the pictures, they scream I am an artist do not make me bite you (in the good way). Thanks for catching me up on the costuming, my brain has been on exam mode. I'm glad you're doing better, I deal with depression myself but I don't have a strong backup system (actually it is because people tend to hurt me) but I remind myself that I most make my voice stronger, like you.
on to happier things I truly love the pictures of you reading and studying the book. It reminds me of an English teacher reading a student's work and finding out that they had been personified as a duck (trust me there are several that fit the bill of duck). but it also reminds me of the old Nancy drew movies, yep that seems to suit you as well.

Wow - what a time to let myself get busy and not check webcomics for a couple of days! I love the pictures, B, and I must second JakeRaven, Rob R., Miamistax, and Jackie L. - you are *smokin'*!! ;-]

I like them all, but I think my favorite is #9, though I love the sweet silliness of #11 and 15. Love your hair best in #2, 4, and 9. And for some reason, the stern "gonna whip yo A" look in #12 just makes me smile. :-] Your expression in that one makes me think of folks in 19th century photographs.

Anyway, just thought I'd share. Speaking of which...

It looks like I just chose the wrong week for our bet, hm? What say we call it a draw? We're both winners. ;-]

I like Jackie L.'s suggestion about drawing the characters doing non-story things, to sort of get back "in the swing." If you have time to do it, I think it could help....

Good luck with the icky issues, and with striking the right balance with all that you juggle - I don't know how you do all that you do, and I respect the heck out of you for it!

Hi Barb,

Not gonna say it, not gonna say it, not gonna say it... Oh Darn! You're really upber, sexy-cute. Too bad you're not single, Jewish, and looking for someone who's dorky, disorganized, rants alot, and has kid in tow.

Anyways, as for the creative block you're feeling, there's a couple of ways to get around it. One way is to just draw your characters, but not anything specific to the story. Jsut draw them doing whatever. Dreading the wash? Maybe draw one of them taking care of the house hold chores. You could even go so far as to take fan requests for single scenes (for a monitary donation). The idea is, once you start drawing, it'll be easy to switch into gear and start drawing the comic again. (Kind of like push starting a car. Get the car moving, throw it into gear, and hit the starter at the same time.)

You could also set yourself a goal. Again, same concept, but this might not work as well. A couple of years ago, I stalled out on my own writing because of work stress. So, I set a one page a day, fifteen pages a week goal. The idea is that I write something each day, but I need to make sure I'm also moving my projects forward, so the weekly total is twice that of the some of the daily totals. Doesn't always work, but I've gotten more pages out.

Third method involves large quantities of caffene and sugar. I don't think you're up to it, and it is a drastic last step. I dare not udder it, but I'm pretty sure your son is familiar with the process. (Having a small trampline and a sterio blairing also helps.)

BTW, do you accept commissioned work? If I were to send you character descriptions and parts of a script I'm working on, could you sketch the scenes with the characters? And how much would you be willing to charge? (When I finish the pilot screen play and the show guide for it, it would be nice to have a few scenes drawn for them is a story board. Unfortunately, my drawing sucks worse than taxes.)

Jackie

BTW, if you get a chance, you need to look for a coffee shop's home page. The owner is a high school friend of mine, and you look a lot like her. Her name is Gina, and the shop is called The Drip. It's located on Seventh Avenue in Phoenix, AZ.
