Happy Monday, and Happy Belated July 4th to my fellow Americans!
In Barbland, things continue to be challenging, and I want to thank everyone who has written with support and understanding. I also want to announce that this weeks second update will not come on Thursday. I am taking my kids to a waterpark Wednesday, and I have three freelance deadlines to make. I’m doing the best I can to make Friday, but it may be as late as Saturday, simply because of the complexity of the page.
Today’s update we peek into Claude’s ‘Charlie’ past a wee bit…

First off, Nigel’s Opus Chapter 5 is here! In this installment, we meet Prudence Witte, a rather frightening housekeeper, and rumor has it Xylia will get another kiss from her man…Also, two new wallpapers are available!
Our favorite fallen faerie, Tychia, shows a saucy side -like she has another side- in this brand new wallpaper. “I always gets what I want.” It is available in five different desktop sizes for your convenience!

Xylia belongs to some groovy collectives: Tomgeeks, Palace in the Sky Publishing, andTall Tale Features. If I’m not mistaken, Tall Tale Features will be announcing Xylia’s inclusion today. ^_^ You will find something new that will tickle your fancy, I promise.
Thank you very much for your tee shirt ideas and shirt colors! A lot of your ideas were things I was planning- so that was good to see. I will be posting some concepts very soon and having a reader vote! I’m actually running out of questions to ask…^_^ Today’s question: would you buy a Xylia calendar, and what are some images you would want to see…

Hey lea, that’s nothing. You shoulda seen the wallpaper of him with a full beard (or was it a goatee?). I think it’s still available in archives….or at least a picture of it is…
Now THAT was hot, and I mean “I have a crush on Johnny Depp and I’m a straight man” hot. Yowza.

Oh, a waterpark! How wonderful! Hope you have a great time, and don’t worry about the delay. Anyone who doesn’t understand that a waterpark must come before everything else is dead inside.

Just kidding – sort of. Actually, I’m a little concerned because a lot more of you used to say hi, and now just a few folks do? Did I do something? Do I smell offensively? Does the new comment area freak you out? Maybe this should be our next question… ANYWAY- to those of you loyal pals who dropped in, thank you- and thanks for the well wishes on my waterpark trip. we’re pretty stoked.
Brent- you make me laugh! The pic you speak of- the Claudius wallpaper- has been put up in the XYlia gallery- so check it out!

Yay, a pug makes a cameo! Still loving Xylia, Barb, though I rarely comment. One of my favorites on the internets, and by far the most gorgeous.

Its the extra click to get to the comment area, believe it or not people are really that fickle that they want to go to a single page for all of their experience with your site. Now that they have to click on the comments to make one it slows them down. Take the Dilbert site for instance. They overhauled it recently and now it is evilly slow to redraw itself when clicking between dates. Yes it is flashier/up-to-date looking, but at a huge trade off for user experience. I open two IE windows in the morning now and I make it through 5 other web comic pages on one of them, before the dilbert site loads up on the second window. Change is always an issue for some.
Awesome page by the way!
TWC is having a lot of issues this week. Today is the second day that I haven’t been able to vote.

. As for the gallery, I kinda like the pinkish college Xylia with Charlie as a brit living in America….woulda been an interesting story.
Josh — that’s nothing. Try going through the accidental centaurs archive. Every flick to the next date is sooooo torturous that if it weren’t for the quality of the comic I wouldn’t even bother.
Is anyone else having trouble with TWC? Every time I try to go there to vote, it says the site isn’t working.

I doubt you’ve upset anyone Barb. Me? I’m just too lazy (read busy) to be able to comment every day, though I do read faithfully.
That pesky thing called work, you know. Ah well. Besides, I prefer to comment only when I actually have something to say. I know it’s nice to hear “Great page!” but I hate having nothing more to post than a banality so I wait until something of impact pops into my head.
@Brent: I know where of you speak in regards to the humor.
Look out behind you. One may be sneaking up on you. *grin*

Hey Barb, do you want us to all clap our hands to prove we believe in fairies? ^_^ No worries! We like what you have been doing and I, at least, have been going over each page three or four times just so that I don’t miss some hidden nuance of color or some little item that may play an important part later.
BTW, I really like how Charlie….uh, Claudius…..uh, Claude(?) thinks he looks like a fop in his new clothes!

If Xylia were a movie, it would definitely have Sean Connery as Ambrosia. It’s just too perfect.
