I would love to buy a Xylia Calendar! As far as what I would like to see as far as pics, I would love to see some of the vote incentives fully finished. I’ve seen a few, and they rocked. I especially like one that was on your deviantart page where Xylia and Claudius are rocking out.
I would also be interested in a mini calendar with some sketched funny Xylia comics similar to some you have used for vote incentives. –just to give a lighter side to something we all love.

Hi everyone, and thank you for your comments and ideas on the calendar. I have made many notes about what you all like here, and will do my best to incorporate them!

Chameleon, thank you very much for the kind words- as an artist, I do a lot of caricatures and portraits, so I’m used to looking at the subtle variations that make everyone’s face different, but also those things that carry through and create family resemblances…

Chip, thank you as always for your kind words- this panel does sort of foreshadow the mood of the next chapter which is somewhat more lighthearted than those prior.

Kez- it is a little sad in a way, isnt it? ^_^-

Brock- you are too kind. Two source lighting always gives a bit of a 3-d effect along with symbolizing multiple points of view…

Cyrik- (there is a Tychia pic just for you on the donations gift page! )^_^ Thank you for the nice compliment on the compostion. I really enjoy doing the covers which are just one panel. I tend to employ zigzag compositions that were favored in the Impressionistic period- that may be adding to the 3-dness, too.

Amanda- soon! I always am glad to hear people say that. Better than- “enough already! SHEESH!”

Brent- ha! Yes, Livy is far too dignified to be licky! ^_^

Coco, thank you for the nice comment about Nigel! I dont get much feedback on that, so I never know how well people are liking it!

I’d love to have a Xylia calendar. I always regretted not getting a Talismen one. The shear amount of beautiful concept paintings you did for Talismen is amazing. I guess I’d love to see some of the same things with Xylia. Teaser images about things to come? And of course of Xylia and Claude together, of course that would mean more work for you, so I’d take anything.
Oh and Nigel’s Opus is great as always

Aw, they’re all so happy! Even Livy (offscreen) is probably going, “I will not lick someone’s face, I will not lick someone’s face….” while wanting to.

Calender….I don’t know if I’d buy one, since I’m obsessed with Boris Vallejo and Julie Bell calenders, but the art in yours would probably be good enough for a spare. Designs….maybe diffgerent month themed designs featuring all of the characters (February = Xylia and Claude making out with a slightly startled yet eager claude as Livy covers her eyes and Katharos (name? sp?) grins; December = Ambrosia sitting in his office chair dressed up as Santa and Xylia is one of his elves).

Like that, y’know?

Aww, family picture! This new chapter page is really touching. The expressions, not only the faces but also the hands and body language says so much. And Claudius looks so content. aww.

Xylia calendar!? Yeah!! Id defenately buy one. I didnt get any Talismen printed material *sobs* but now with Xylia Im ready for the goodies! Pages, hmm *thinks* Romance is always good! And I love character theme pages, Xylia has enough interesting characters. (like Tychia, Livy, Dr. Ambriosa and the new family looks like it has some really cool people in it too) Nothing original really but oh well, its what Id like to see. Good luck!

Brock, i think it’s the layering and the blocking of the characters, but what really makes it pop are the hands. They’re reaching forwards and backwards across the ‘layers’ in an ingenious display of composition that results in a strong sense of depth.
