I really like the lighting in panel one, the interplay of Tychia’s aura and the shadows… And the backgrounds are awesome as always.
And Tychia’s evil sneer… :-]

WOW! Like old Batman stuff- Whaap! Bang! Boom! I think you could do even more sound affects, like Swoosh! Clank! Knock! Swish! etc… Really, the page could be all sound effects! this would be funny…
the first panel is my favorite because it has the best facial expressions. I also love the way Claude’s hair and Tychia’s necklaces are moving there, like they are alive! Can’t wait for the next panel- I wonder what will Claude do???

This is great. And T-Girl knows Oly. Hmm the plot thickens. And Claudius is just evil teasing the poor girl about what he remembers, but what am I saying.

I’ve JUST noticed that Tychia has a *very* similar pendant hanging from her pretty neck than the one Ambrosia gave to Claudius for protection. Maybe that’s why she can perform magic in Epsilon? Eh, I mean Earth!

By the way, keep in mind the state of the entertainment economy right now when you get those rejections. Publishers are really scared right now, especially in light of a lot of small PODs going belly up. Just stay positive and keep making awesome art!

i am certain someone will publish xylia tales. the distribution mechanisms of scott sava’s and lora innes’ publishers look good to me, though i really have no idea and i’m sure you get publisher advice from fellow artists. some of the comic publishers don’t seem to invest enough in promoting something new. it seems to me most comic creators take that on themselves. but…let’s pray for barb that her comic is a print success and not just “in print”.

And awesome page, as always.
I appreciate the dramatic side of what you were depicting, however, something about the first panel has bothered me for the past couple of days, since I tuned into to you drawing it, and I’ve now figured out what it is: As impressive as Tychia’s sabre strike against the spear is, the mechanics of the swing are wrong. Her elbow is locked out, and her wrist appears to be rolling over to finish the blow, which leads to a very weak blow and (possibly) a hyper-extended elbow/broken wrist.

I’m the first to admit that action sequences are my weakness- and I don’t have a background in any kind of swordsmanship- I try to find good reference, but sometimes the angles aren’t quite right for the storytelling I’m trying to accomplish.
