Hello, Xyliacs!
———————-Sneak peek————————-
Today’s page is one of those sort of cliffhangery things. What does that child see??
—————————TWC————————–
Please vote- I hope to get something new up before I leave. Today’s pic is one I posted a year or more ago- of the mysterious White Twins, Damara and Dalia…

———————–XYLIATALES NEWS!!————————
Production is still continuing on the Xyliatales book Volume I. In case you missed it- here is me with a color proof of the cover. The good news is that it looks great- the bad news is that I have to go through and change the levels on every page and pull back on the saturation. But that’s okay- I would rather do that then have the whole book be dark.

———————-Barblog———————————-

Iowa continues to be a ‘Winter Wonderland’ or as I like to call it “The Oppressive White Blanket from Hell”. My friends here in town will get that, but not so the folks in Austin, Texas! They got the rare little smattering of snow yesterday and had a wonderful time. I suppose if it snowed once every few years I would love it too. Eh, well…at this point… I don’t know. It’s a bit like if you ate chocolate cake every day, every meal for three months… I don’t know if you could EVER go back to chocolate cake again…
Sorry to not post this at midnight. And additionally, I have to apologize for taking a one week hiatus. I have tried to get the next page done early, but my freelance is piling up and I have projects I have to complete before I leave town on a trip. Xylia just has to take a back burner to that. We will return on Monday, March 8 with a blog, and then Wednesday March 10 with a new page.
————————Odds and Ends————————-
Xyliatales On Air will be broadcasting on Sundays, along with the occasional last minute broadcast! (Just had a fun one last Thursday night!). I’m going to try for a regular time- like 7PM CST. I know some of you will find that an inconvenient time in other parts of the world- hopefully it will work for some of you! XYLIATALES ON AIR TALK SHOW SITE
Remember, you can follow my announcements on Twitter
Or consider friending me on Facebook- just make sure to let me know that you are a Xyliac when you send the request.
——————–XYLIA GOODY BAG——————
Please consider donating for the Xylia cause! I plan on adding new things in the coming weeks- first I will be creating a series of hi resolution downloadable character cards, with profile images and bio information! In the meantime, browse our existing wallpapers and other things. As always if you don’t receive your download, please email me directly at bji2001(at)mchsi.com.

Most of the other incentives are still available for $2.00 – $10.00 amounts, including the nude faeiries (if you are 18+)! Get em while they’re hot (always)! ^_^
As we head towards three years of Xyliatales, I want to thank all of you for coming along for the ride, and I hope you continue to stay with us in the coming year!
Hugs,
~B

I’m thinking that there’s a “statue” of a certain faerie involved, here.

I’m thinking that butterfly is purposefully leading somewhere specific. Should be fun to see what April sees. Btw, does she have two different colored eyes or is that the lighting? I always find different colored eyes fascinating. Great job on the backgrounds too.
The cover looks outrageously cool. Volume rock is going to rock so hard.
Coincidentally, your driveway looks a lot like mine. Too much snow.

Ooooooo….I can’t wait to see what April sees! She looks…awed, or horrified…lol

I totally sympathize with the snow. I live in Idaho, and we have a 5 foot wall in front of our door. Anyways, I am so excited to see the cover! That will be awesome to see Xylia in print. Thanks for posting this amazing comic on the web, free for all to see. You are a great artist and amazing person

*snort* Oppressive white blanket from Hell…. love it! We here in Southern PA can relate! The cover looks awesome, and I bet I know what April sees
Thanks for all of the work and love you pour into the story and the artwork, Barb. Been following you since Talismen, and your talent never ceases to amaze. Enjoy your trip (hope it’s to somewhere warm, and snow-less!)

Did she just discover Xilia? Ohhhhhhh…I think that’s great news…and maybe bad news…Guess I’ll have to see if I’m even right first!
February 24th, 2010 at 10:17 am
Is that Xylia? I hope so! Can’t wait for next week’s update!

so pretty today! awww…………
February 24th, 2010 at 11:08 am
Hee hee hee…
Alan- yes, little April has a brown eye and a green eye. ^_^ Thanks for the nice comments on the page and the cover, that means so much!
Karstrel- April does seem to have that over the top reaction to things, doesn’t she? ^_^
Grace- WOW. You got us beat with 5 feet walls in front of your door. We have five feet on each side of our driveway, but not the door. Thank you for the nice comments!
Jules- heh heh, I knew my pals from this northern region would get that name…this has been a tough winter for pretty much the entire lower 48- snow in every state? What? Anyway, I will be happy to see the end of this winter, and yes I am going to Texas- but they just got snow yesterday, so I’m praying it will be GONE when I get there!!
Tigershark & Tinkerwrks…Well, now…what IS she seeing?
Michelle- ^_^ Thank you! BTW, I saw your comment on the blog, and Kez explained that with the vote incentive it is set up to open in a separate page because we had requests for that in the past. Here’s what Kez says, “It’s easier for 95% of people who want to vote, and then X-out without leaving the site.”
Thanks everyone for the nice comments!

Aw, I voted but Photobucket is complaining about its bandwidth being succeeded.
Great update today, by the way! The trees look great and I have a suspicion that SOMETHING interesting is about to happen… can’t wait for the next update!

The cover looks great, and so does the Cover Girl holding it up – especially love the new pic of you up above – you should use that over the artist’s blurb in the back of the book!
Every time I see them, I love April’s and December’s eyes more. Outstanding! ^_^
I hope you have a great time in Texas, and can actually see the ground for a change!
Take whatever time you need – you need breaks to keep the creative juices at optimum. ^_^

That has to be Xylia, or at least some other faerie. Can’t wait for next week!
Albone — Of course it’s leading somewhere specific. That’s what butterflies do!
Barb — Yeah, we had an oppressive white blanket here in Connecticut, but the rain washed it away. Now, if only something would get rid of the rain, I’d be all set.

Lovely page! I love the lighting on April’s face. Wonder what she sees.. could it be a Xylia??? And yes, I, too, can relate the oppressive blanket from hell. O_o And even though ours is actually starting to melt, we’re supposed to be getting more tomorrow into Friday. Bleh. Though the snow’s not supposed to be too bad, it’s the wind I’m worried about. Hopefully Daisy & I won’t blow away. O_o
Oh! Barb! Sorry about disappearing last night on Ustream. oye!

It`s Xylia!!
The cover looks so awesome in print, it`s so full of action.
ugh….the snow! I can imagine that we`ve had less than you had but we`re not used to it at all that it actually snows for 2 months.
It was complete chaos at the end of december with trains not being able to go, roads that closed down and lots and lots of slippery snow-mush everywhere, I don`t know many people who haven`t fallen down and hurt some part of their body… *sigh* It`s getting warmer now so everyone silently gets their hopes up but in the last two months it could be melting down and everyone was happy and the snow would be falling down thickly again the next day.

You were correct– I do love the expressions on my page too. I think expressions in general (especially of children) are one of your strongest drawing points— amongst the plethora of others, of course.
And, I agree with the others. We have found our leading lady. Whoo.
Also, good to hear you are busy with work. It’s fine to take a break– your comic is worth it for cetains-ness. Now, go kick that freelance-works bum!
February 25th, 2010 at 8:59 pm
OH– I also am SO looking forward to Xylia in print. I will certainly do my best to buy it.
February 26th, 2010 at 8:58 am
Huh? I made it to the last page already??
*sigh* Damn, that’s the problem with the “pretty” webcomics. Slow as hell.

I totally LOVE this page!
