We’re starting a new chapter with new characters, new locale and new time of day. Woo hoo!! Should be nice. Eh? Finally we get to meet these two characters who appeared on the introductory poster so long ago. Wonder what the story is on them….we shall have to see.

Hope everyone is doing okay out there. I know more than a few folks have come down with one or another of the flu bugs that are out there. Hope you are all doing okay.
I’ve been dealing with a touch of the frustrating downers that I get from time to time. Always an uphill battle with that. But keeping on keeping on. I do want to apologize again to the Xylia readers for my sporadic updates the past few months, and I hope it isn’t too late to get things back on track.

Love the new look for the site, I miss the purple a little smigde though. Is it just me or does the little girl have two different coloured eyes? How exciting! New characters! Beautiful artwork, thankyou.

@Aquila audax – Actually, I wondered the same thing about the girl’s eyes, but thought it was just my imagination or a trick of the light… Hmm! Time will tell! If you think that is interesting, take a good look at the clouds… That’s not a bunny I see up there… ^_^ I like it, B – very nicely done!
@B – I also want to say that you do an amazing job of conveying emotions in your characters’ faces – I know of no one else’s work that does it so well. That little girl’s innocent happiness is something of a wonder to behold… :-]
I understand the frustration blues, a little better (okay, a lot better) than I’d like. The best thing I know is to keep plugging away, keep pushing on, and even if you only set small goals, keep at it – when you can see visible progress, even on a small scale, that can be a major help with turning morale around in the long run.
The same with Xylia – keeping plugging away, and those readers who have wandered off will eventually come back. How can I be so sure? Well, they came and read in the first place, and they came because of the high quality of the story and the art. I have faith in the quality of your work, both to bring people back, and to bring new people as well – just keep on keepin’ on!
Let me put a little different emphasis on that line:
If *you* draw it, they *will* come.

Barb, have a funny feeling that I can guess who were the models for the two young’uns. Someday, I’ll back you into a corner and ask, “wanna see pictures of my grandkids?” as if you would have a choice.
So you have had a touch of the “downers.” Barb, you’ve come such a long way over the past year. Setbacks may be unavoidable but just don’t let them distract you from your goals.

I like them both already! The little one is April, right? does she has one green eye and one brown? that’s so pretty…

Aquila, thank you for the nice comments- the green is only for a while, we’ll switch it up again in the future. Yes, she has two colored eyes!

Finally, we get to meet April and December! I’ve been wondering about these two ever since I first saw their names on the cast page two years ago!

What a sweet little girl – I think I’ll like the introduction of these two new characters. Already I wonder what their part will be…
Also, perhaps it’s because of the girl’s slightly-too-big sweater and the woman’s backpack, but they seem like a family of modern vagabonds.
What I love about this comic is how you always create a sudden interesting twist, when the next chapter title brings something totally unexpected.
